What a sad story. It is hard to believe the young woman died from anything but murder. If tissue samples could be analyzed for DNA it might someday be possible to trace her family, identify who she may have been and determine how she ended up being used so horribly.
I think so too, maybe a murder-to-order, or an opportunistic way to use up a body maybe, but it was so well planned. Sadly the genetics testing in 2001 was almost non-existent, esp in Pakistan. If there was enough political will she could be exhumed, but my reading of it is that only fringe internet people and academics/artists find the case interesting, so we'll likely never know.

It reads like the setup for a Donna Tartt novel. Grisly and morbidly fascinating. I really want to know what happened!
