Thank you for this post! I’m always dismayed by how much modern woke dogma is ruining archeological. I’ve analyzed and sexed dozens of skeletons and have tried to explain to people how it works and how there can be some ambiguity especially if you don’t have a pelvis as skulls can be pretty indeterminate sometimes. I have wondered if I would incorrectly sex a skull that had facial feminization surgery but it’s so rare that I can’t see it being a problem even in the future.

This is a necessary synopsis of a growing situation within the field, I find it troubling that academic discourse has been bound by a singular dogma. While academia is and should remain ‘open-minded,’ it is essential to also be critical of or allow criticism of concepts and policies that have been accepted as irrefutable.
