I’ve been away over the holidays on work business, all top secret of course, so my apologies for the lack of writing in your inboxes. Rest assured there’s much in the pipeline so I thought I’d get that down on paper now and commit for you guys. Firstly I’m working on a three-part series on Chinese prehistory, covering initially the Neolithic period and K.C Chang’s hypothesis that an early shaman-king ideology underpinned the origins of the state, secondly a piece on the connections between China and the steppe, the introduction and development of bronze technology and the first dynasties, and finally a speculative look at the possible back-migrations from North America into Eurasia and the theory that the Xiongnu Confederation had some Native American blood!
Hadn’t heard the Hsiung-nu/Xiongnu-American Indian hypothesis before—looking forward to that. Did once run across an academic article arguing that Mayan is actually Sino-Tibetan and that the Maya were arguably the descendants of refugees from a large-scale social collapse in China. More things in heaven and earth, Horatio…
I find it heartbreaking that you have to hide/obscure your identity just because of your "unorthodox" research. Our modern world is so degenerated and backward.
Ah, apparently I obtained a PDF of the article some time later. It's Bede Fahey, “Mayan: A Sino-Tibetan Language? A Comparative Study,” Sino-Platonic Papers 130 (February 2004) 1–61. Drop me a note if you’d like the PDF.

Oh I thought it said "upcoming contest" and was disappointed when I discovered there was no way to win
