Mr Herbalist, you mentioned reviews for your first book. I had a cursory look and couldn’t find any. If you could any number of them that would be amazing. Not a long time follower so I think getting to know some of your work would be a good start.
One other thing: I don't know if the thumbnail image you shared of the cover is final, but the type alignment relative to the position of the skull is off. Do you want a hand with this? I know you don't have any budget for it, I'm just offering to fix it if you want. Also, I wouldn't digitally print a flat black background, and definitely not unless the coating of the printed cover stock is up to the task. There's a reason that it's not a very common thing to see, because it never comes out like you see on a display (because of the difference between RGB and CMYK colour spaces, and the difference between backlit contrast of a monitor and the printed contrast of reflected light in the real world of laser/inkjet on card).
I recently purchased the first book through Amazon. The physical quality is as good as any other paperback, and more importantly the content is better than anything this curious layman has read in this field in a very long time.

Hi Simon. Probably the best are on the Goodsread page for the book, hopefully that'll give you some ideas about the content

Thanks Mr SAH. Will have look.
Can't wait to read this!
P.S., "Skull-Cults & Corpse Brides" would also make a great name for a death metal band 🤘🏻
Cool! Will definitely check them out after I start the new job in the coming months!
How will the book be bound and printed?
Self-published through Amazon. It's not the best but its v affordable and simple for someone like me

Thanks, I've ordered the proof copies so we'll see how they come out. I appreciate the advice though, you sound like you know what you're doing
So it's laser-printed and glue paperback binding on demand I guess? Never purchased a self-publish title, just wondering.

Too kind Meth Bear! The quality is ok, maybe one day I'll look at a more professionally bound product, but for now Amazon does a great job
